  • New Tata Safari comes out to be a longer version of the Harrier SUV.
  • It can accommodate six or seven people at once, depending upon the configuration selected.
  • It sources power from a 2.0-litre diesel engine.

2021 Tata Safari is the new flagship SUV from Tata Motors. It is going to be a direct rival to the likes of MG Hector Plus and the upcoming Hyundai Creta seven-seat SUV.

New features

The Tata Safari boasts a number of alluring features such as biggest in segment Panoramic Sunroof, Electronic Parking Brake with auto-hold function, Powered Driver Seat, Automatic Headlamps, Rain Sensing Wipers, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and much more.

Four variants

The new Safari has been introduced in four trims namely – XE, XM, XT and XZ.

New interior colour

Inside, the 2021 Tata Safari gets a new Ashwood dashboard, Oyster white colour theme, and three rows of stadium-style seating.

Interior and layout

On the inside, the new Safari features a familiar layout for the dashboard. There is the same semi-digital instrument console as found on the Harrier. There is also a floating type 8.8-inch touch screen infotainment system available which sits in the middle of the dash. Moreover, it also gets leather wrapping on the steering wheel and gear knob, contributing to the cabin’s richer look.

Six and seven-seat configuration

The new Safari will be available in both six and seven-seat configuration. There will be a dedicated captain seat setup available as an option on the top-of-the-line trim.

Longer length, more room

The new Safari sports a longer length in comparison to its donor model. The designers have extended the rear overhang on the SUV, enabling the company to carve out more cabin space on the inside.

Distinctive tail

While the front fascia looks Harrier-inspired, the rear section features distinctive taillights, a new tailgate with upright rear glass, and a more aggressive looking bumper.

Impact 2.0 design inspiration

The new Tata Safari comes based on Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language.
