As per the report, the updated MG Hector will come with a redesigned grille having horizontal slats. Apart from a fresh grille, no other tweak is expected to the front fascia, which will have split LED headlamps with LED DRLs and LED fog lamps.
Some people had earlier complained that the MG Hector’s 17-inch alloy wheels were not in proportion to its overall size and looked a tad bit small. While MG Motor India seems to have introduced a fresh set of five-spoke alloy wheels in the new MG Hector facelift, the size might as well be increased from 17-inch to 18-inch.
The new MG Hector facelift is expected to come with dual-tone interiors. The customers might be greeted with new upholstery. Features like 10.4-inch HD touchscreen AVN system, 7-inch coloured MID, 4-way power-adjustable co-driver seat, powered tailgate opening, dual-pane panoramic sunroof and eight colours ambient lighting are expected to be carried forward from the pre-facelift Hector.
At present, the MG Hector comes with three BS6-compliant powertrain options — 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (143PS/250Nm), 1.5-litre turbo-petrol hybrid (143PS/250Nm) and 2.0-litre turbo-diesel (170PS/350Nm). The transmission options include 6-speed MT and 6-speed DCT automatic. We are expecting the new MG Hector facelift to get the same engine and transmission choices.
The MG Hector is currently priced between Rs 12.84 lakh and Rs 18.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Don’t be surprised to see some kind of hike in the new Hector prices. With regard to the competition, the new MG Hector will rival the second-generation Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Tata Harrier.
