These Electric Cars Are Faster Than The New Corvette C8

The famed new rear-engined Corvette has the right to call itself the quickest car Chevy has ever produced…but it’s slow compared to these EVs.

The new Corvette C8 hit the market fast and furious. Rumors about its mid-range engine caused anxiety with wild presumptions of a possible breakthrough or revolution. Some car enthusiasts refer to it as an engineering leap of faith. It is a true definition of an American sports car with super speed and a mega-dollar price tag.

Faraday Future FF91

Faraday Future Company faced production issues and postponed the concept cars for years. In 2019, Faraday Future stepped up and released the FF91, a sleek luxury sport crossover. Built in-house, the FF91’s powertrain contains a massive 130kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It powers up 3 electric motors that produce 1035 horsepower capable of accelerating 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds.The four-wheel steering and vectoring torque, FF91 is surprisingly sturdy on the road. On a single charge, FF91 has an estimated range of 289 miles and large cargo space at the back. Considering that the Corvette C8 produces 495 hp and accelerates in 3.0 seconds, FF91 with the right driver would finish first.

Tesla Model X

Tesla Model X is a mid-size luxury SUV with spectacular “falcon-wing “rear doors. Normally, you’d expect SUVs to be slower but the Model X isn’t one of them. With an amazing WLTP range of 301 miles, the car can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds.You would expect a vehicle of about 2500kg to have nothing on the sleek Corvette C8 but it’s not the case. The Tesla Model X is a cool electric car for the everyday commute. On the weekends, you can flaunt your ride and race your friends comfortably.

For all the mobile game lovers, you might have unlocked the Aspark Owl in Asphalt 8: Airborne, a festival spring update in the 2020 version. Aspark Owl is an electric-powered sports car manufactured by a Japanese company Aspark.The goal was to make the fastest electric car and the street-legal racecar did not disappoint. With 1,341 hp, the Owl accelerates from 0-60 mph in 1.60 seconds. At this point, the Corvette should just accept defeat and avoid an embarrassing track record.

Rimac C_Two is a fantastic semi-autonomous sports car, manufactured by a Croatian company named Rimac Automobili. The all-electric car gained popularity after a high-presenter reporter, Richard Hammond’s car crash in 2017. The C_Two derives its power from the four in-wheel motors that rotate together producing 1,888bhp and 2,300Nm of torque.

Its top speed is 285 mph with an accelerating capability of 0-60 mph in 1.85seconds. Probably would have to slow down waiting for the C8 to warm up in 3 seconds. The C_Two has 400 miles driving range with up to 80% charge using a rapid charger in just thirty minutes.

Pininfarina Battista

Named after Pininfarina’s founder Battista Farina, the electric sports car boasts extraordinary performance figures. Borrowing its 120kWh battery pack from Rimac, the four electric motors combined power output produces 1,873bhp and 2,300Nm of torque.The Pininfarina Battista top speed is 217 mph with an acceleration of 0-62 mph in 2 seconds. Although its top speed differs a little from the C_Two, it’s still would give the C8 stiff competition.
