This all-new Ford F-150 is loaded to the gills with new technology and capabilities that raise the bar for the competition. Here’s what we like most. The Ford F-150 is one of the biggest, baddest, and meanest trucks out there. Having been on sale since 1948, the F-150 is currently in its 14th generation. That’s a very long time, so every time a new generation car is revealed, it is a big deal. The all-new Ford F-150 is loaded to the gills with new technology and capabilities that raise the bar for the competition. There are six engine options to choose from like the previous model, and we have listed out 10 cool features on this new F-150 that make it stand out from the crowd.
The Special Seats
Ford has taken the seat game on the F-150 to another level. After watching a lot of their customers, the seats have been designed in order to provide the utmost comfort. They feature maximum recline which essentially allows the seats to fold down flat for people to relax after a hard day at work. And no, you cannot use this while driving. You can even opt for the optional 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen system which offers speakers in the front headrests as well for an immersive experience.
A portable office is what Ford was going for when they designed the interiors of the F-150. There’s plenty of practicality as the center console can be transformed into a flat work station. While this may seem like a simple modification, having a flat desk in your car can be more convenient than cupholders in some situations.Be it signing documents or placing laptop and working or just sharing food with your passenger. The possibilities are plenty, and Ford has gotten it right with this feature.
Folding Gear Shifter
Now, this feature is a little gimmicky and may seem very superficial, but there’s no denying the fact that it is cool. What Ford learned from its F-150 customers is that they didn’t want the fancy rotating knob gear lever or a tiny gear shifter, but instead they wanted the traditional stocky PRND stick. So, that’s exactly what Ford did. The F-150 gets a simple gear lever with a twist. The silver button on top of the ‘P’ sends the lever flat on the center console and even brings it back up! Very Jaguar-like, but unique in its own way.
Digital Instrument Panel
Also new on the F-150 is the 12-inch digital gauge cluster which displays plenty of information. You get navigation guidance, adaptive cruise control information, and even towing information. When off-road, you also get the vehicle orientation showing steering angle, incline angle, and even roll angle. In towing mode, the trailer braking gain setting is shown in real-time.And it’s not just about the information displayed, but the display is also crisp and interactive with every drive mode getting its own theme nice graphics.
Pro Trailer Mode
Reversing with a trailer is a task that’s usually reserved for seasoned drivers. However, Ford has made it easier with the Pro Trailer Backup Assist. The truck is equipped with high-resolution cameras all around to provide multiple views which makes it easier to gauge the surroundings.Taking a step further, you also have graphics on the screen which tell the driver which way to turn the steering wheel while backing up. All-in-all backing up a trailer has been made a lot easier with the turn of a dial.
