Kia Sonet’s latest teaser gives us a glimpse of the sub-compact SUV’s tail lights. The Sonet will make its global debut on 7 August and its India launch is expected to happen soon after that.
Kia Sonet is going to make its India debut on 7 August and the event will also mark the SUV’s world premiere. In the build-up to the unveiling, the South Korean carmaker has started releasing teasers, each one revealing some new detail about the upcoming SUV. While the first teaser gave us a glimpse of the sub-compact SUV’s front, the latest one gives away some key details about Sonet’s rear design. Now, Kia has already showcased Sonet as a concept at Auto Expo 2020 and we have a pretty good idea about the vehicle’s overall design. However, the production-ready models are almost always different than the concept, which is why these latest teasers become so important for us.
As seen in the latest teaser, which is a short video commercial, Kia Sonet SUV will get wrap-around tail lights with LED signature 5 LED arrays in each cluster. These tail lights are joined by what appears to be a dark plastic bar, lending to the vehicle a contemporary design. But this is different from the Sonet concept car where the tail lamps are joined by an LED light bar. Other notable design elements in this teaser include rood rails, rear spoiler, and rear wiper. The teaser also confirms that Sonet’s front DRLs (daytime running lights) will sport the same pattern as the SUV’s tail light LED signature.
The previous teaser has already revealed that the Sonet will get a prominent ‘Tiger-nose’ grille with chrome surrounds. Flanked by sleek LED headlamps with DRLs. The SUV will also get a chiselled front bumper, large air dams with silver surrounds, and clamshell bonnet. Kia Sonet, just like Hyundai Venue, is most likely to get an all-black interior layout with contrasting silver accents for AC vents, centre console, and doors. Kia has already confirmed that the Sonet will be a connected sub-four metre SUV and will get UVO connectivity suite with artificial intelligence-based voice assistant system.
